Role ResponsibilitiesJob SummaryThe Group has announced a Productivity and Simplification programme to the market that will seek to drive efficiencies across the organisation, but also enable the Bank to better take advantage of growth opportunities that exist across the business divisions.This role will centrally support the overall programme, setting out the detailed opportunities and partnering with the business in order to deliver on the efficiencies and growth opportunities.Put in place long-term sustainable solutions to ensure that the outcomes of the programme are effectively set-up into business-as-usual practices within the businesses and functions. This should include advice on the appropriate roles to manage the ongoing practices and guidance to business leaders on the skill-sets and experience needed.ResponsibilitiesStrategy

  • Be able to articulate the high-level opportunity for the Bank and the break-down of that by business division and function in order to provide clarity and transparency on the objectives of the programme.
  • Set clear direction on the long-term productivity and simplification agenda for the Bank.
Business
  • Work closely with the business and function leaders and elected programme leads to ensure that objectives are clear, and delivery is tracked and reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that sustainable long-term solutions are in place, so that any gains and improvements in ways of working across the Bank are embedded and continued on an ongoing basis.
People & Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Risk Management
  • An awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the potential impact that the programme could have on the ability of the organisation to manage those risks
  • Ensure any recommendations or decisions are made with a full understanding of the risk and control environment in the relevant business or function
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
  • Responsible for delivering \xe2\x80\x98effective governance\xe2\x80\x99; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent financial literacy is essential - understand financial reports and study daily financial market happenings
  • Be detail-oriented and have problem-solving skills.
  • Highly inquisitive with an ability to flex approach for different audiences and situations
  • Ability to learn is essential \xe2\x80\x93 being able to understand the impact across the narrative of the Bank with each new regulation, and strategic decision among others
