The Forester is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of all forestation and reforestation projects of the site.
Plans and directs forestation and reforestation projects.
Determines methods of cutting and removing timber with minimum waste and environmental damage and suggests methods of processing wood for various uses.
Directs suppression of forest fires and conducts fire prevention programs.
Assists in planning and implementing projects for control of floods, soil erosion, tree diseases, and insect pests in forests.
Advises landowners on forestry management techniques and conducts public educational programs on forest care and conservation. Participates in environmental studies and prepares environmental reports.
Determines how to conserve wildlife habitats, creek beds, water quality, and soil stability, and how best to comply with environmental regulations.
Monitors contract compliance and results of forestry activities to assure adherence to government regulations.
Chooses and prepares sites for new trees, using controlled burning, bulldozers, or herbicides to clear weeds, brush, and logging debris.
Plans and supervises forestry projects, such as determining the type, number and placement of trees to be planted, managing tree nurseries, thinning forest and monitoring growth of new seedlings.
Analyzes effect of forest conditions on tree growth rates and tree species prevalence and the yield, duration, seed production, growth viability, and germination of different species.
Monitors forest-cleared lands to ensure that they are reclaimed to their most suitable end use.
Plans and directs forest surveys and related studies and prepares reports and recommendations.
Subcontracts with loggers or pulpwood cutters for tree removal and to aid in road layout.
Studies different tree species' classification, life history, light and soil requirements, adaptation to new environmental conditions and resistance to disease and insects.
Plan and lead the periodical tree planting program.
In Addition to inspection reports, keep a daily dairy summarizing Contractor's operations, problems encountered and corrective measures taken relative to the work area.
Must be a Bachelor's degree holder in Forestry or any related course
Preferably a Licensed Forester
Good computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
With experience in dealing with government agencies (LGUs, DENR, Barangay and Municipal Offices)
With at least three (3) years of related work experience
