About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralizing and standardizing technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

Infrastructure Architecture (Strategy)

• Responsible for conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the current technology infrastructure, including Open Systems, Digital Channels, and IBM technologies like the IBM i series and Mainframe. Develop a strategy for simplification and modernization in accordance with modern software engineering standards and best practices.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategic roadmap for the bank, covering areas such as cloud readiness, microservice readiness, container readiness, better support hybrid workplace and resilient and robust data centres. Drive the socialization of the roadmaps with the relevant groups within UOB.
• Responsible for evaluating the current software platform, including Solaris, AIX, RHEL, Oracle DB, Maria DB and MS-SQL, to create a strategic software platform for the bank. Collaborate with the Application Owners and the Enterprise Architecture Team to communicate the strategic platform and the migration roadmap to the stakeholders.
• Responsible for defining architecture patterns for various use cases and promoting their adoption and acceptance among the relevant stakeholders within UOB and its subsidiaries. The architecture patterns must align with the organisation\'s strategic infrastructure and roadmap.
• Responsible for evaluating the current network architecture and defining appropriate network patterns to facilitate the adoption of Software Define Network (SDN). Responsible for developing a migration roadmap to transition the existing network to SDN and collaborating with various groups to determine the optimal timing and projects for migration.
• Responsible for evaluating the efficiency of infrastructure automation in collaboration with the Service Build and Engineering Team. This includes the utilisation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and integrating tools such as Ansible and CI/CD pipelines.

Job Requirements

• A minimum Bachelor\'s degree, preferably in computer science, working experience in Technical Architecture or Solution Architecture is preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, preferably in a fast-face, multi-teams and large projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict. Attention to detail, Creative thinking
• Ability to work under pressure and with tight timelines
• Familiar with and have experience with:

• Container platform, e.g OCP.
• VM platform, e.g. VMWare
• Kubernetes
• Infrastructure Automation e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Chef
• Modern software engineering, such as Mico-service
• Private Cloud and Public Cloud
• Major software platforms such as Oracle, Maria DB, JBOSS, RHEL etc.
