Gallery Intern (September 2023)Yeo Workshop is a cutting-edge and growing gallery committed to showing meaningful artworks by exciting artists. We started 10 years ago at Gillman Barracks Art District, and since then we have produced over 50 exhibitions. Our expertise including art exhibitions, marketing and press for artists and exhibitions, and executing external art-related exhibitions and events for luxury brand and corporate companies including large scale public art projects at a warehouse shipyard space, Julius Baer Next Generation digital Art Prize and S.E.A. Focus Art Fair.We are currently looking for an intern to join our gallery and assist us with our various projects, programmes and exhibitions starting in September, for a minimum period of 3 months. You will gain a wealth of experience and be encouraged to develop an area of interest with the guidance of the gallery to realize a major project or goal by the end of your internship.If supporting local and regional artists is something you are passionate about, please send your CV and application today. If you are an artist or designer, please include work samples or a portfolio.A stipend will be paid to you monthly based on the gallery working hours.Main activities / Responsibilities

  • Supporting gallery exhibitions including installation, de-installation and the curatorial process
  • Filing of documents and keeping organized records
  • Assisting with handling artworks and creating artist books
  • Ensuring the gallery is well organized and clean: Opening the gallery on-time, making sure it is clean and sufficient material is available, closing the gallery making sure all power is shut down and gallery is left in an agreeable state (also shared responsibility with Gallery Assistant)
  • Organizing and Welcoming guests and conducting tours for students, curators and making and preparing sales pitches for collectors and clients
  • Managing the budget for the gallery - understanding fund raising and grant Programmes
Programmes & Events
  • Programming and initiating talks & programmes related to Exhibitions
  • Creating material for communication of programming
  • Preparing logistics for talks, lectures etc
  • Designing and preparing relevant collaterals or materials for the event
  • Managing technical processes and equipment
Communications
  • Updating all communication channels including our Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube, etc
  • Creating press releases and handling press contacts related to the current exhibition
  • Coordinating collection and subsequent upload of online and print publication - collating all information from speakers and writers
  • Managing all external forms of communications e.g. our mailer/ e-newsletter
Requirements
  • Have or working towards a degree in Visual Arts/ Arts Management/ Art History/ Curatorial Studies/ Design
  • Able to work at least 1 day during weekend
  • Open to learning new skills
  • Moderately tech savvy or open to learning new technology, software or equipment when needed for managing office processes
  • Proficient in speaking and writing English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Indesign
