The opportunity
We are looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our growing national team. Drawing on your technical knowledge gained from your education or experience in industry, you will advise and support our clients in coal, petroleum, and mineral royalties. You will be engaging with large resource companies to understand their business operations, and analyse complex financial and commercial information to assess their resource royalty obligations under the relevant state royalty framework. You will also be assisting with the preparation of position papers on technical issues and responses to audit queries from state regulatory bodies.
As a GDS-QS team member, you will also be part of an exciting and diverse group of Manila-based EY professionals. The GDS-QS team in Manila is recently established and expected to grow rapidly. This is an ideal opportunity for proactive leaders interested in fast tracking their career journey.

Your key responsibilities

• Preparing resource royalty returns
• Assist with automating client processes and analysing large data sets
• Responding to audit queries from state regulatory bodies
• Forming technical positions on royalty matters

Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have

• Ability to analyse numerical data in excel
• Problem solving skills and ability to work with complex and detailed information
• Genuine interest in process improvement, innovation and technology
• Strong time management and task management skills, allowing you to handle and manage multiple concurrent engagement tasks, timelines, and stakeholders.
• Ability to articulate complex information to a range of stakeholders will be key
• Tertiary qualified in Information Technology, Commerce, or Law

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Previous in-house accounting experience or audit experience.
• Experience with state royalties and/or the resource industry is not required, but would be highly regarded
