Job Description


:We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Global Category Manager to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of Project Purchasing. The primary objective of this role is to strategically manage procurement activities, optimize supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with relevant business laws, including compliance and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the purchasing area, fluency in English, and strong negotiation skills.Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management:
  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and ensure quality.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within assigned categories.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation.
  • Strategic Sourcing:
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers, ensuring they meet company standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the sourcing process, including the development of RFQs/RFPs, evaluation of supplier proposals, and supplier selection.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Supplier Performance and Development:
  • Monitor and assess supplier performance, implementing improvement plans where necessary.
  • Foster strong partnerships with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and implement supplier development programs to enhance capabilities and performance.
  • Compliance and CSR:
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant business laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Promote and enforce CSR initiatives within the supply chain, including sustainability, ethical sourcing, and fair labor practices.
  • Prepare and submit compliance documentation and reports as required.
  • Cost Management and Analysis:
  • Develop and manage the category budget, tracking and reporting on cost savings and financial performance.
  • Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Head of Project Purchasing on category performance and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the purchasing area, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant business laws, including compliance and CSR requirements.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).
  • Experience in a multinational corporation or a global procurement role.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
