Job Description


The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Define and drive the implementation of the Financial Markets Technology strategy for Trade and Post Trade (FM TPT) processing and ensure it aligns to the overarching goals for the FM Technology strategy.
  • Continually evaluate the \xe2\x80\x98buy vs build\xe2\x80\x99 options for the FM technology investment strategy to maximise the allocated budget.
  • Play a key role in the contributing to the annual strategy, investment funding and budgeting processes to ensure that the investment in future years continues to drive alignment to the strategy.
  • Work with the Business Heads, Functions, COOs and CIOs to ensure that the delivery strategy for FM TPT aligns to the client\xe2\x80\x99s revenue and business agendas.
  • Ensure application estate for FM TPT has a clear product roadmap from cradle to grave including ensuring that all applications have a clear lifecycle and ensuring hygiene factors are well managed such as obsolescence and ICS controls.
  • Collaborate with the wider CCIB teams including DCDA, TB and CC to help drive the overarching CCIB strategy.
Business
  • Build and maintain a strong partnership with the FM stakeholders across FM Sales and Trading, FSS and FM Operations.
  • Ensure business partners have input into and get regular feedback on the FM TPT strategy as well how this aligns to the business scorecard performance. Adjust and re-pivot as needed in line with business feedback.
  • Work with business and operations stakeholders to ensure technology roadmaps are in place to reduce manual operations and increase STP ratios across product lines.
  • Support business in meeting Return on Tangible Equity (RoTE) through meeting business objectives in the most cost effective manor.
  • Ensure delivery of deliverables is done to a high standard and lessons are learned quickly and efficiently when things do go wrong.
Processes
  • Act as a point of contact and escalation to internal users (TB, FM, Client Coverage) on relevant projects and initiatives
  • Manage and close audit, risk and regulatory commitment and proactively self-identify gaps and prevent any audit findings from internal and external auditor and regulators.
People & Talent
  • Drive the alignment of FM TPT with the S25 strategy and transformation objectives
  • Champion and act as a role model of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and culture. Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement, ensuring everyone in the Bank are drivers and owners of client outcomes.
  • Set effective metrics and standards, transparently communicating them to team members, providing feedback and rewarding employees accordingly. Set the appropriate tone and expectations for the wider team.
  • Employ, engage, and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Ensure team structure/capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes.
  • Ensure the provision of on-going training & development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risk.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Create a motivational and challenging environment for staff which is conducive to creativity and performance with customer centricity in mind.
  • Provide feedback on transformation leaders to their people leaders, as part of performance reviews
Risk Management
  • Maintains a comprehensive insight into the current and emerging risk profile.
  • Evaluates the appropriateness of the organization\xe2\x80\x99s frameworks for governance, risk and control
  • Contributes to the development of risk-oriented culture within the organization
  • When processes change ensures controls and monitors are fit for purpose and redesign where necessary
  • Supports timely and quality execution of governance and control changes as and when required
Governance
  • Play an active role in participating in and driving where appropriate the FM QPR and FM Refinement Forum governance framework.
  • Completes high quality and timely risk documentation - top risk profiles, residual risk assessments, risk acceptances, root cause reports, management action plans, risk committee papers.
  • Maintains SCB Standards for Program Management
  • Work with individual Businesses and Functions in the context of change management, both to provide general guidance and to support them to resolving specific issues
  • Set a consistent methodology for measuring baselines and tracking/reporting benefits, tracking of transformation programmes at key milestone level (investments, costs and benefits)
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Play an active role in participating in and driving where appropriate the FM QPR and FM Refinement Forum governance framework.
  • Completes high quality and timely risk documentation - top risk profiles, residual risk assessments, risk acceptances, root cause reports, management action plans, risk committee papers.
  • Maintains SCB Standards for Program Management
  • Work with individual Businesses and Functions in the context of change management, both to provide general guidance and to support them to resolving specific issues

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in building and maintaining programs within a bank.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (or higher).
  • Strong Program Management background, as demonstrated by being the business owner of successful programs within the bank.
  • Deep relationships with relevant stakeholders, including COOs, Technology Leaders, and CCIB Business leadership or equivalent external experience.
  • Working experience in supporting the Financial Markets business, Transaction Banking Business, and Client Coverage Business
  • Strong understanding of the Data Product and future/market trends in this space
  • Significant experience working in/running Innovation and Change within a complex organisation
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to articulate complex issues concisely and communicate effectively, both spoken and in written
  • Collaborative and creative problem solver, while being outcome focused.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand complex workflows and excellent attention to details
  • Comfortable working in a relatively unstructured and multi-cultural environment
  • ADKAR Prosci certified in Change Management
