We are looking for a Global Head of Ocean Supply Chain Services to join our Global Ocean Freight Team in the Global Forwarding division. Working as part of a global ocean leadership team, you will work with senior stakeholders to review and develop the Global Ocean Supply Chain services strategy and vision. The strategy and key focus areas for the role will be buyers’ consolidation and freight management services and align short-, medium- and long-term objectives which lay the long-term foundation for the BCN Product. The role As a Global Head of Ocean Supply Chain Services, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing solutions covering supply chain warehousing, supply chain systems technology, people leadership and process development, all of which will require enhancement or new development that ensure the delivery of quality services above market standards that maximise customer satisfaction, drive growth in volumes, enhance profit and reduce cost
  • Product strategy development and execution and developing BCN product & Freight Management capabilities globally. Establishing ' Agree & execute' service level agreements and driving procurement, pricing, and services in line with strategy to meet customer’s demands while also holding partners accountable through performance reporting and monthly, quarterly, annual reviews
  • Developing and leading a team to deliver on the product’s execution covering commercial & operational aspects including but not limited to procurement, development of warehouses services, management of suppliers, product packaging, pricing & tender response, business development and the development of customer relationships
  • Setting and achieving budget and financial outcomes. Achieving agreed upon Growth, Gross Profit & PPU
  • Setting growth targets, budgets in conjunction with the sales leadership. Assisting in development and retention of customers and providing regular market insight.
  • Suggesting innovative new solutions to customers. Identifying Ocean Freight growth opportunities – new customers, new markets and defining corrective actions with sales organization to reach agreed targets and commitments


Qualifications
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15+ years of experience in Ocean Freight and supply chain
  • At least 10 years relevant experience in ocean product. Experience with buyer consolidation is preferred.
  • Leadership experience across Procurement, Negotiation & Supply Chain and commercial experience ideally with customer-facing business development knowledge
  • Strong influencing skills with experience in effective internal & external communications across multiple stakeholders
  • Track record of successful project completion, sound decision making, integrity and teamwork
  • Demonstrable knowledge of government regulatory requirements. Focus on cost to serve, process & procedure and reducing waste across the business
