This position includes responsibility for Inventory Control functions (to be defined and documented within the business unit).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\xc2\xb7 Understand and participate in the development and deployment of materials strategies appropriate to the business unit, in concert with the Global Business Unit Materials Manager and the Business Unit Manager(s) / Director.
\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s Operations Team to develop advanced planning solutions that improve Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s performance and service levels and meet the customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs.
\xc2\xb7 Effectively present Jabil Planning processes initiatives and strengths to the customer.
\xc2\xb7 Lead and provide strategic direction to the materials team in the business unit.
\xc2\xb7 Identify individual and team strengths and development needs including light, specific training on an ongoing basis.
\xc2\xb7 Coach and mentor the Planning and Inventory Control staff to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure that the Master Production Schedule {MPS) at every site is loaded in alignment with customer contract(s), liability agreements and internal revenue forecasts so that the materials team maintains conformance to Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s \xe2\x80\x9cRules of the Road.\xe2\x80\x9d In developing a solid MPS, consideration must be given to materials availability, equipment capability/capacity and staffing.
\xc2\xb7 Drive a systematic process to receive, evaluate and fulfill customer demand across the business unit.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure the execution and deployment of Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s standard planning strategies and systems where possible, and implement customized solutions where necessary.
\xc2\xb7 Manage the overall demand plan and capacity analysis for the business unit.
\xc2\xb7 Balance both strategic and tactical capacity projections across manufacturing sites as required.
\xc2\xb7 Develop and supervise solid product launch plans for new business, and transfer plans for products being moved between Jabil manufacturing sites.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure continuity of product supply to the Jabil manufacturing site(s), and of finished goods to the customer throughout the transfer timeframe.
\xc2\xb7 Oversee the disposition and transfer of residual inventory to the appropriate \xe2\x80\x9creceiving\xe2\x80\x9d Jabil factory.
\xc2\xb7 Participate in Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s monthly forecast cycle with BUM and Operations Management as required.
\xc2\xb7 Support GBUMM and Business Unit Management in customer meetings, presentations and audits.
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate a commitment to customer service.
\xc2\xb7 Anticipate, meet and/or exceed customer expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively.
\xc2\xb7 Make customer issues via e-mail, phone calls, etc., a priority.
\xc2\xb7 Support off hours availability when applicable.
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate effective leadership and cooperation with the materials team in the business unit and the functional management within the factories where the business unit operates.
\xc2\xb7 Serve as an escalation point for the customer and workcell materials employees, as required.
\xc2\xb7 Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
\xc2\xb7 Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
\xc2\xb7 Participate in employee performance evaluations as requested by Plant Materials Management
\xc2\xb7 Design, generate and analyze inventory reports for internal business unit and / or customer use.
\xc2\xb7 Recommend process and supply chain initiatives to lower inventory costs (hubbing, JIT, optimum manufacturing lot sizes, alternate transportation methodologies, etc.)
\xc2\xb7 Understand the industry in which the customer resides. Understand the requirements for flexibility, cost and quality that will be needed by the customer.
\xc2\xb7 Continually improve efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of the planning function to help drive down the cost of materials management with in the business unit.
\xc2\xb7 Define and monitor key performance metrics.
\xc2\xb7 Establish and grow internal and external relationships throughout multiple business levels of the account (Buyers, Planners,Managers, Directors and others)
\xc2\xb7 May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS\xc2\xb7 Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s software packages.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
\xc2\xb7 Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company\xe2\x80\x99s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.
\xc2\xb7 Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.
\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.
\xc2\xb7 Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
\xc2\xb7 Strong and convincing communication skills.
\xc2\xb7 Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business Administration, Materials Logistics Management, or related discipline
\xc2\xb7 Three years planning related experience, in an EMS or similar environment.
\xc2\xb7 Domestic and international travel is required.
