Nucleic acid delivery technologies have revolutionized vaccine development and provide unprecedented momentum for new pharmaceutical development.

To further strengthen our innovation pipeline, we are looking to recruit a Head of Nucleic Acid Delivery R&D. This newly created role will drive application and product development for lipid nano particle and polymer-based formulations. Integrated into a global team of world-renowned experts on lipids and vaccine adjuvant systems, we\'re looking for a talented and ambitious R&D Manager who is able to build and develop a team in one of the most significant areas of our Pharma business.

The Role:

• MSc / PhD qualified with prior experience working in Nucleic Acid Delivery R&D projects aimed at both breakthrough innovation and application development.
• Excellent insights into the in vivo and in vitro applications of nucleic acid delivery
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work strategically across a matrix organisation and develop and lead a global team
• An in-depth understanding of technical and market trends with a track record in delivering new product development in line with commercial targets.
• Good understanding of IP scoping and landscape within lipid and polymer chemistry technology
• Ability to identify and implement cultural and operational change management practices within an established R&D structure.
• In-depth understanding of the global vaccine industry

The Requirement:

• Leading and building a geographically and culturally diverse team to drive innovation and the commercialisation of projects
• Accountable and responsible for the establishment of the scientific writing process and execution of the process.
• Strategically decide on the most effective approach to increase the visibility of lipid systems business within relevant scientific communities
• Provide a thorough understanding of the application IP landscape in lipids and work with our marketing teams to identify and scope new market opportunities
• Evaluate new technologies in nucleic acid delivery and transfection and lead strategic discussions with Executive team on such technologies, M&A and related projects.
• Plan and implement Nucleic Acid Delivery research and development strategies
• Participate in relevant scientific interaction with academia and industry within the field of lipid technology
• Publish peer-reviewed papers in relevant journals and take active participation in scientific conferences and meetings in the field
• Provide astute people development and leadership practices to ensure talent is nurtured and developed within the business
• Form strong collaborations with internal stakeholders
• Participate in development projects and meetings with customers when needed
• Ensure effective budget management and allocation for R&D activities
