Global Security is a guardian of Novartis people, reputation and assets and provides independent assurance and advice to the business and management, through the provision of threat-intelligence, conducting independent and objective fact-finding investigations, combatting the global threat of falsified medicines and the protection of our real estate and operations globally.

The Global Security Region Head of APAC is the most senior security representative in the region, reports directly to the Head Global Security Investigations and is an extended member of the Leadership Team. The key purpose of this role is to implement and drive the Global Security strategy in the region. Central to the strategy is the leadership and coordination of impartial, fact-based investigations into \xe2\x80\x9chigh-risk\xe2\x80\x9d allegations of internal fraud and misconduct, support investigations into product diversion, theft, tampering and counterfeiting and to drive proactive and reactive security initiatives across the region to protect Novartis associates, estate, products, patients, proprietary information and reputation.

The role also champions professional investigation training in the region - across all areas of the business - and provides mentoring and advice to business leaders in the conduct of lower risk, local investigations and reporting.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for implementing the Global Security strategy in the region, acting as a role model servant leader to a wide and diverse team, championing and driving innovation, continuous learning and improvement.
  • Prioritize, lead and direct impartial, fact-based investigations into high-risk allegations of internal misconduct across business functions and all levels of seniority, ensuring regional investigation reports are impartial, factual, concise and supported by sufficient evidence.
  • Direct and manage investigations into other internal and external security threats, which involve or could impact Novartis (e.g., extortion, blackmail, bribery).
  • Investigate pharmaceutical crime and bring counterfeiters and illegal traders to justice, recover losses through legal action, improve patient safety, preserve Novartis reputation and create a tangible return on investment for the business.
  • Embrace and develop collaboration with business stakeholders (e.g., Corporate Litigation, Speak Up Office (SUO) Quality, Operations, Public Affairs) and relevant external competent authorities for enforcement action.
  • Champion professional investigation training across the region and together with SUO and corporate litigation, mentor other investigative functions across APAC, ensuring quality and consistency of delivery.
  • Organize and oversee executive protection for the executive committee when travelling and at meeting venues across the region.
Role Requirements

What you\'ll bring to the role:
  • Bachelors/Master\'s degree or equivalent in international security or investigations field and/or equivalent work in related field studies
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience is required. Extensive experience in fraud/misconduct/anti-bribery investigations (e.g., FCPA); international leadership and senior management roles; intelligence gathering and dissemination; anti-bribery and corruption due diligence; executive protection; risk management; physical/protective/ technical security. A network within relevant agencies is desirable.
  • Background in either law enforcement, government agency, military, corporate security; investigations of fraud/criminal activity/ misconduct. Experience in intelligence gathering and executive protection. International and industrial security experience as well as an understanding of physical security strategies.
