Group Director, Business Controlling & Fp&a (industrial Conglomerate)

Singapore, Singapore

Job Description

:
Finance Director, Global Manufacturing Operations & Commercial Finance
Global Manufacturing Group | Global HQ in Singapore | Plant-Facing Role | 50%+ Travel
Location: Singapore (On-site with regular travel to Indonesia and regional production sites)
Open to candidates looking to relocate to Singapore
We are looking for a high-impact finance leader to take ownership of financial performance across some of the most complex and high-volume industrial operations in Southeast Asia. This is a deeply operational finance role -- embedded in manufacturing -- where your work will directly influence the cost, efficiency, and profitability of multi-billion-dollar production ecosystems.
About the Company
Hudson is partnering with a global manufacturing and industrial group headquartered in Singapore. With large-scale production facilities spread across Southeast Asia (particularly Indonesia), the group operates end-to-end value chains across commodities, energy, and engineered materials -- from raw material sourcing to finished goods distribution.
As the company accelerates its next phase of growth, we're hiring a Finance Director, Global Manufacturing Operations & Commercial Finance to lead site-level finance strategy, performance management, and commercial decision-making for one of its largest business units.
Rather than a typical HQ-based finance role, this position is closely integrated with factory operations, providing financial leadership on production costs, site performance, and investment planning.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial performance management across multiple manufacturing plants, partnering directly with plant GMs, operations heads, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  • Own the full factory P&L, including oversight of production costs, labor efficiency, yield performance, raw material impact, and output economics.
  • Manage a team of 7-8 across FP&A, cost controlling, and operational finance, with team members based in Singapore and on-site.
  • Drive real-time decisions on unit economics, productivity metrics (e.g. OEE), downtime cost, and cost-to-produce models.
  • Implement robust reporting and forecasting systems that integrate factory-floor data into strategic business planning.
  • Lead financial reviews at plant sites, identify cost levers, and support operational leaders with actionable insights on performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with Group Finance on capex planning, expansion investments, and multi-site operational transformation projects.
  • Ensure strong financial governance while maintaining operational speed and on-the-ground presence.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in operational finance, plant controlling, or manufacturing FP&A, preferably in industrial, commodity, or process-intensive sectors (e.g., pulp & paper, mining, agri-processing, chemicals, energy, heavy manufacturing).
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing large-scale manufacturing P&Ls -- ideally in operations with hundreds of millions in annual output or revenue.
  • Strong understanding of production performance metrics, cost accounting, and factory operational levers.
  • Capable of working independently at site-level -- able to influence both senior leadership and ground-level teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional certification: CA or CPA
  • Willing and able to travel 50% or more across Southeast Asia
  • Practical, grounded, and outcome-driven -- able to bridge strategic finance with frontline execution.
Why Join
  • Step into a mission-critical finance leadership role with direct impact on manufacturing outcomes and business performance.
  • Work inside a global manufacturing group that is investing in scale, sustainability, and operational innovation.
  • Collaborate with a world-class executive team across both operations and group finance.
  • Be based in Singapore -- a global HQ -- with relocation support available for the right candidate.
