Job Description

Our client is hiring a Group Legal Counsel who is familiar with APAC laws and regulations, in particular M&A to join the team in the Singapore office. Reporting to the Group CEO and CFO, this role will provide legal advisory and compliance support to the Group C-level executives. You will have the opportunity to be involved in strategic initiative portfolios, particularly in M&A transactions and day-to-day legal affairs.

At the holding-level, they have offices in Hong Kong and Japan, with Singapore as the HQ. Our client is also publicly listed on the Japan Stock Exchange (JPX).

With a strong focus on the Asia market, our client aims to become a leading professional firm in Asia with coverage of nearly 20 key markets in the region as well as presence in US and Europe. Currently, they have a principal investment arm and actively invests in high potential and fast-growing companies in technology, consumer goods, food & beverage and education.

Description

• Provide legal advisory and compliance support to the Group
• Draft and review a broad range of legal contracts and agreements
• Develop, enhance and update the Group\'s policy framework and guidelines to ensure corporate compliance with legal requirement and to minimise legal risk exposure
• Identify potential legal and compliance risks via conducting assessment and recommending action plans to mitigate such risks
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, as well as regulatory bodies on legal and compliance issues

Profile

• Bachelor degree in Law (LL.B) and admitted to the Singapore Bar with a minimum of 5 years PQE
• Candidates with experience managing corporate restructuring projects in APAC and strong in-house legal experience have an advantage
• Ability to handle legal and compliance work independently
• Ability to work under pressure and produce timely results
