What the role is:Lead and manage the content development and media relations team within the Strategic Communications department to promote and profile HTX as the agency that exponentially empowers HTDs with S&T to keep Singapore safe and secure through the website and in the media. The content developed will be used and repurposed by the other teams in Strategic Communications for internal and external communications. A key role is top provide counsel with regard to the management of information during a crisis or for an issue so as to reduce the damage to the agency, and turn potentially negative news around.What you will be working on:

• Content development and creation a) Develop communications strategies for key announcements and translate them into engaging content for use on the website, EDMs, videos, speeches by principals (where necessary), and for the media. b) Direct team to produce content so that it can be repurposed and used by other teams in Strategic Communications for external communications and branding, and internal communications and outreach. c) Develop content for advertorials. d) Oversee writing and editing of S&T stories and reports. \xe2\x80\xa2 Research and analysis a) Gather intelligence from various sources (media reports, social media tracking, etc) to analyse and assess prevailing climate and landscape \xe2\x80\xa2 Website a) Gather intelligence from various sources (media reports, social media tracking, etc) to analyse and assess prevailing climate and landscape \xe2\x80\xa2 Media Relations a) Lead Senior Manager, Media, in engaging local and international media b) Work with the media to position and publish positive stories on our corporate announcements and S&T stories that will be of interest to the public, and enhance HTX\'s standing as a key S&T agency. c) Manage co-branding of stories in the mainstream media with stakeholders in the different Home Team departments to ensure positive reports that highlights not only the application but also the S&T role of HTX. \xe2\x80\xa2 Management of information during a crise and for an issue a) Work with Dir, DD and owner divisions to identify hot potato issues that might arise as well as define key desired outcomes. b) Recommend comms plan (platform, positioning, messaging, strategy, tactics, Q&As) to achieve the desired outcomes. c) Where applicable, shape announcement such that possible backlash is mitigated. \xe2\x80\xa2 Comms Counsel and Training a) Develop and organise a media spokesmanship programme for Senior Management, Leads and engineers/scientists to equip them to speak to the media and at external fora about their work and HTX. b) Coach engineers and scientists to present their ideas in a coherent, succinct and engaging manner.

What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualification in related discipline \xe2\x80\xa2 Preferably with at least 15 years of excellent skills in story-telling and a strong background in research (liberal arts) experience \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess at least 8 years of proven track record in supervisory experience in any of the following: 1) the newsroom 2) communications agency 3) in-house communications team \xe2\x80\xa2 Proactive \xe2\x80\xa2 Creative \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong analytical skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent sensing of news and happenings around the globe, in Singapore and within HTX and the Home Team \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to think critically, analytically and strategically \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong storytelling skills to distill complex ideas into effective narratives * All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
