Get to know the Role: As Head of Market Insights, you will lead a team that has established a position within the company of being more obsessed about the competition landscape than any other. You will be hands-on in guiding the end-to-end production of insights by the team, and be responsible for integrating the myriad of insights into a coherent competitive strategy. You are expected to always be the trusted and neutral voice in the company that helps anchor everyone to build on ground (and hard) truths. You are also expected to embrace change and constantly evaluate your team’s scope to ensure it adds the most possible value to the company. The day-to-day activities:

  • Bridge the communication between management and the team to ensure that your team’s work constantly adds value to the priorities of our decision-makers.
  • Guide your team’s work to ensure it forms accurate, relevant, and timely strategic perspectives of the developing competition landscape.
  • Watch for competitive threats that could come suddenly from the blind side or are slowly emerging from over the horizon.
  • Seek out and develop new sources of information and data; guiding it from design to pilot and eventually scaling it for maximum returns.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships that enable effective outcomes whereby insights lead to action and/or more robust decision-making.
  • Lead multiple workstreams related to strengthening the company’s competitive position.
  • Be the leader your team needs - empowering them, coaching them, helping them achieve their fullest potential.
What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience with an industry background in consulting, research, strategy, or analytics; experience in technology-enabled marketplace platforms will be an added advantage.
  • An inquisitive mind and playfulness that supercharges efforts to solve complex and ambiguous problems in the business.
  • Strong analytical and strategic acumen with the correct desire and instincts to thrive in a fast-paced and uncertain environment.
  • Superb presentation and communication skills in English; any additional Southeast Asian language competency will be an added advantage.
  • A start-up mindset with the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get work done.
  • Being comfortable with rapidly code-switching between thinking strategically and diving into details.
