Primary Details Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeTo lead the Singapore Claims team and work with Underwriters, Brokers and Customers to provide a quality claims service for all portfolios and contribute to profit & growth. Manage vendor relationships relevant to servicing all claims classes in conjunction with business and ensure key relationships within QBE International Claims teams across London and the region are maintained.Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement and communicate a Claims strategy to support delivery of overall business targets
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate processes, procedures and strategies for the Claims function to support delivery of business targets
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of a strategic approach to ensure key customers are identified and retained within the business to optimize profitability
  • Use planned business levels and knowledge of the Claims environment to forecast Claims activity and support decision making
  • Monitor and manage Claims service performance to ensure control of reliable prediction of Claims cost and frequency
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure that the Claims function is aligned to the needs of the business, and works closely with underwriters and other business functions
  • Maintain Claims Quality Assurance system to ensure effective control and delivery of robust Claims processes
  • Work with the entire Claims team to build and maintain relationships which support the acquisition and retention of profitable business
  • Develop relationships with business managers to enable the Claims function to fully support their needs
  • Work with key stakeholders/business managers to develop sustainable Claims products and services to attract and retain customers and increase profitability
  • Adopt QBE claims reserving philosophy
  • Provide technical expertise and business acumen as a key public interface to develop QBE\xe2\x80\x99s profile in the marketplace
  • Devise, control, communicate and monitor and QBE claims reserving philosophy to drive forward Claims Handling expertise within QBE
  • Deal with contagion or large event Claims impacting the business by having a proactive and reactive strategy
  • Manage complex claims
  • Comply with the Reinsurer\xe2\x80\x99s requirements of all Claims handling and management issues
  • Represent QBE\xe2\x80\x99s interests, as requested, with internal and external groups, and through participation in industry forums and corporate activity
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholder to maximize influence
  • Lead and manage a team of Claims staff, to ensure that the overall output and quality of service provided by the team is within specified levels
  • Motivate and develop the Claims team so as to ensure the required standards of performance and behavior, and support the continuing personal and professional development of all team members
  • Ensure the Claims/Underwriting team have sufficient knowledge or access to information to enable them to perform their role
  • Attract, develop and retain high quality workforce with the knowledge, skill and will to deliver excellent claim outcomes and customer service
  • Support training and skill development programmes including succession planning for key roles
  • Plan, manage and review performance of employees via annual performance review process
  • Where Matrix reporting lines exist, present as a claims thought leader for all region claims matters, DAL approvals and Peer reviews
