Head of Group Reporting, Asia Your Role The Head of Group Reporting is a member of the External Reporting management team within the Finance department of ING Wholesale Banking Asia. You are manager of the Group Financial Reporting team (6 FTE) based in Singapore and you are the regional lead providing advice and support towards the Heads of Finance in the other branches in the region and the Finance Staff working in the regional shared service centre in Manila (~ 20 FTE); to ensure that we deliver consistent and aligned reporting throughout the region. You are result-oriented and have sound knowledge and experience in the Financial sector. You excel at developing teams and individuals. At the same time, you are detail orientated and capable of approaching issues from analytical and strategic perspective and then defining concrete solutions that are practical to implement. You are independent, like to work on multiple tasks and can pro-actively manage multiple stakeholders. Your most important tasks will include:

  • Regional Lead for Group Reporting – you will represent Asia on global calls and lead regional calls to align on group reporting processes and implementation of changes across Asia. You will also work closely with countries providing advice and guidance on group reporting related items
  • Deliver Group (IFRS) reporting for ING Singapore and Asia: reliable financial accounting and financial reporting including maintenance of a strong control environment (SOX) and management of Finance change. This may be extended with responsibility for local regulatory reporting (MAS) activities in due course
  • Stakeholder management:
    • coordinate Singapore and Asia Group reporting delivery with shared service centre Manila, senior Finance management ING Asia and ING Group Finance Amsterdam
    • coordinate on product valuations with senior client facing staff, risk management functions and finance experts at Group and in the region
    • coordinate annual Singapore branch audit with auditors and senior branch management
    • coordinate roll-out of accounting policies in the region with heads of finance branches and the Policies & Procedures team
  • People management: managing the Singapore Group Financial reporting team including staffing, team/individual development and running the annual performance cycle (objective setting, resource allocation and appraisals)
  • Finance innovation projects – you will drive and lead finance innovation projects with the goal to standardize and streamline processes, and improve efficiency and quality of financial accounting and information distributed across Asia.
  • Help safeguard the bank: support internal control of the bank via focus on a) efficiency and effectiveness of operations, b) reliability of financial reporting, c) compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and d) safeguarding the assets of the organization;
  • Act as a pro-active business partner and advisor for internal stakeholders in all the above-mentioned areas

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience, preferably also with audit background or professional (CPA/ACCA) qualification. Knowledge of local regulatory reporting requirements (MAS) would be advantageous.
  • Track record in people management and leading teams
  • Product and accounting knowledge of financial markets products (Derivatives) and wholesale banking lending and trade finance products is preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills with demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills with proven success in influencing business decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel. Excel Macro working knowledge.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across a cross-functional team and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong team player, self-starter and motivator, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Successful candidate will be results focused, with high energy, flexible and with good work prioritization skills.
