The Opportunity

The built environment is generating nearly 40% of the total global carbon footprint. With global warming and urbanization this trend can only increase unless we decide to combat it. Many corporations have made pledges to reduce to NZC but the road to deliver on these promises still needs to be defined and implemented. JLL manages more than 5 billion square feet on behalf of our clients, and therefore we have an important role to play in driving the sustainability agenda to shape a better world.

To achieve this ambitious goal, we will need to engage with our clients as the vast majority of our scope 3 emissions are generated by their portfolios. With this commitment we must deploy best in class sustainability practices with all of our clients across the 5 billion square feet that we manage globally, whether investors or occupiers, from strategy to transforming assets, project management down to managing assets.

The Role

We are seeking a Head of Sustainable Operations, Asia who will be responsible for leading JLL's client focused sustainability team across Asia. The Head of Sustainable Operations, Asia will oversee a regional team from India to Hong Kong that delivers wide ranging environmental services for JLL's clients. The role is a critical part of JLL's ambition to help our clients rapidly improve their environmental performance.

It is an exciting mix of client engagement, environmental delivery, people management and business development. The role also has strategic element as it will be influential in defining and delivering JLL's expanding range of sustainability services.

Reporting into the Head of Sustainable Operations, APAC

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy Development/Execution:

  • Develop and deliver, together with the Head of Sustainable Operations, APAC and other regional leads, the Sustainable Operations strategy & business plan.
  • Develop account specific plans to support client retention, cross selling, client satisfaction, and account growth.
  • Input into the design and implementation of the global platform delivery model that will meet client needs, and JLL financial targets.
Leadership
  • Create a solution-oriented environment where the team is consistently seeking to implement best practices that deliver value to the client.
  • Partner with Account and Sales teams to support renewal strategies.
  • Drive consistency of delivery of sustainability across the Asian region including reporting and project delivery.
People Management:
  • Lead the Asian sustainability team and recruit to grow the team to meet increasing client demand.
  • Develop a culture focused on clients, people and teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Responsible for end-to-end employee management including hiring, onboarding, leading, developing and mentoring team members.
Relationship Management / Client Service
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key clients and with key internal stakeholders (including Business Line Leads, Client Relationship Managers, Sales teams, Account Directors)
  • Ensure high level of execution and client satisfaction for all services performed.
  • Effective mobilisation (transition) of new client accounts.
Operations
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met for delivery of Sustainable Operations in the Asia region and appropriate risk plans and procedures in place.
  • Accountability for budgeting and cost management applicable to service delivery.
The Candidate

The successful candidate will have a strong combination of sustainability leadership experience, transformation skills, the ability to lead multiple & diverse teams across countries and locations and collaborate effectively across functions to deliver strategy and business plan.

The candidate needs a demonstrable and highly commercial mind-set, strong financial acumen and a growth mindset. A logical, structured approach to problem solving and common sense are key.

Experience
  • Ability to lead large regional & diverse teams through influence.
  • Growing revenue through excellent service delivery and understanding the sustainability market.
  • Experience in effectively designing, gaining alignment and successfully executing significant transformation change initiatives from project start to finish.
  • Excellent analytical and program management skills.
