Shiok Meats is looking for a Head of Process Development to lead the Process Development Team with engineers and scientists, to execute bench scale process development, screening & optimization experiments. The position will be based in Singapore, with opportunities to implement principles of process characterization, high throughput screening and data analysis to assist with bioreactor scale-up for cultivated meats for crustaceans.Position: . Full-time . SingaporeRequired background: . Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess engineering, Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or other relevant scientific disciplines, or a similar and demonstrated scientific level of working. . Proficient both in oral and written communication in English.Preferred experience: . At least 7 years of relevant working experience in an industry setting. . Proven expertise in bioprocess engineering and optimization demonstrated in industry or through peer-reviewed scientific publications and/or patents. . Experience with bioprocessing methods, particularly cell culture and production.Key Responsibilities: . Develop and coordinate the R&D activities of the team in line with the company strategy, and coordinate the efforts of the team with those of other teams or external parties. . Tinker with bioreactors, setup of in-house bioreactors, think-out-of-the-box! . Lead a diverse team of research scientists in designing, optimizing and scaling bioprocesses for the production of cultivated meat. . Contribute to technology transfer of manufacturing process by working with the Tech Transfer team. . Key role in the operation of laboratory-scale bioreactor systems for suspension/adherent cell culture, bioreactor operation and small-scale experiments . Lead development of multiple pipelines for various species. . Coordinate research activities of the team and train members of the team. . Serve as the intersection between the R&D groups, contribute and oversee the project and budget management. . Identify and select relevant technologies and equipment for cell culture and bioreactor systems. . Oversee design of experiment and one factor at a time analysis for process parameter development. . Setup protocols and batch records and provide technical input to drive progress. . Communicate results and data in a timely and effective manner. . Follow health and safety procedures and implement paperwork as required.Traits: . Self-motivated and believes in the mission to bring crustacean meat to market. .
