Oversee the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation of tiered system of services, tapping on the specialised clinical skillsets of social workers to deliver the necessary support to caregivers of our students, DAC clients and residents with autism. This may include thoughtful deployment of the social workers to lead colleagues in the management of complex cases requiring various parties to play different roles, in order to deliver holistic support to students, clients and residents.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Allied Professional team (psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists) to develop holistic approaches for the development and care of students, clients and residents, with particular emphasis on Social Workers role in strengthening the support of their caregivers.
Provide direction, supervision and guidance to Social Workers to deliver holistic caregiver support. This includes leading Social Workers to facilitate admissions and referrals, and helping caregivers to navigate the availability of community resources.
To lead the team of Social Workers to support the families of the students, clients and residents, to enable caregivers to better care for the students and clients, by building networks with other agencies and partners, e.g. Family Service Centres, Social Service Offices, CDCs, other social service agencies offering specialised services, etc.
Work with CEO and Heads of Services (School Principal, Head of Adult Services and Head of Home) to conceptualise and implement enhanced systems of caregiver support. This would include the design of support structures to take into account the more complex needs of caregivers of persons with moderate to severe autism.
Oversee the administration of the department. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
Be a registered social worker, with at least 5 years of experience (preferably in the disability sector), including 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
Strong leadership and clinical supervision skills to guide, grow and develop the team of Social Workers
Good interpersonal and communication skills, and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting
Good understanding of the unique context of working in a setting which serves persons with autism, or have a willingness and desire to learn about autism
Most importantly, have a desire to be a serving leader
