Key ResponsibilitiesLead sponsor coverage team across Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Australia to:

• Develop and maintain commercial relationship with sponsors in APAC Ex-Japan acting as SMBC\'s representative point of contact
• Identify and originate deal opportunities in APAC Ex-Japan from sponsors across private equity, real estate, infrastructure and credit funds with focus on credit solutions including leveraged finance, DCM (bridge to bond), unitranche, TLBs, structured equity financings, etc.
• Support product verticals in mandate process and managing client expectations (including troubleshooting) throughout deal execution phase and selectively conduct post-closing deal reviews
• Liaise and co-work with SMBC group members to deliver financial solutions across different platforms including M&A, ECM/DCM, mezzanine, equity, etc.
• Explore new clients, products and related strategies to broaden relationship and service offerings to private equity industry - including market trend analysis, internal education, data distribution, project TFTs, management consultations, etc.
• Lead marketing strategy and dedicated account planning for sponsors in conjunction with the global sponsor coverage strategy led by account managers in New York, London, APAC Ex-Japan and Japan

• 15+ years of direct experience at leading financial institutions in sponsor coverage, leveraged finance, structured finance (infra, real estate, etc.), fund finance, M&A or other financing/advisory work involving financial sponsors
• University graduate or MBA with strong academic background
• Deep financial market experience and demonstrated financial/risk analysis, and marketing skills
• Ability to draft or guide the drafting of internal discussion/credit papers, marketing pitches, etc.

• Astute and possess a keen eye for detail, good credit sense and critical thinking/analytical skills
• Articulate with strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
• A team player but also independent and self-motivated and resourceful
• Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise, manage and meet expectations/deadlines with strong work ethics, integrity and commitment
