This company is best described as a highly ambitious and fast growing multi-commodities trading group. In addition to the current portfolio of energy trading, the Group has also developed teams in future energies including carbon, power, and hydrogen. Singapore serves as one of its key commercial and trading locations, supporting business development and acquisition activities across Asia Pacific. Due to a surge in internal demand, the executive leadership team has decided to start a new centre of expertise for trading analytics, with an exciting opportunity for a Head of Trading Analytics to lead a team of trading analysts based in Singapore. Reporting to the Asia Managing Director, the Head of Trading Analytics will lead centralised efforts within the trading business to develop market, financial and competitor analysis, therefore being highly instrumental in identifying growth opportunities for the company. Developing sound short-term trading analytics through the use of advance business intelligence techniques and Big Data, along with long-term forecasts is key to the success of the role. You will be advising the management on the market views based on fundamental and quantitative analysis, and engage with Trading, Strategy, Business Development to communicate these views. In line with the Group’s drive for continuous business improvement, he/ she will also be representing the trading team to lead those initiatives. As a team manager, you will be instrumental in coaching, guiding and mentoring a team of analysts and interns. The successful candidate must have an excellent degree from a recognised university, with 10-15 years of managerial experience in energy trading research and analytics in a senior capacity. Ideally, you will also be experienced in quantitative big data skills, including working with large and incomplete data. Through the competencies in technology, you will have proven track record in setting up daily trading analytics dashboard for the multiple commodities. You will be described as commercially astute, an effective project manager and leader with excellent reputation in the industry.
