Role Responsibilities
The role will maintain global oversight of the Bank\'s non-insurable benefits offerings to help position the Bank as a diverse and inclusive employer of choice.
Strategy

  • Partner with senior global stakeholders across countries, business and functions in the development and execution of the Bank\'s Benefits Strategy, aligned with our Fair Pay Charter.
Responsible for maintaining global oversight of the Bank\'s non-insurable benefits offerings, including but not limited to:
  • Leave (e.g. Annual Leave, Block/Compliance Leave, Sabbaticals, Prolonged Illness Leave, Parental Leave)
  • Cars and/or Car Allowances
  • Other Benefits Allowances (e.g. Meal Vouchers, Parking)
  • Long Service Awards
  • Accountable for the integration of strategy on global health and benefits with other aspects of the Bank\'s people strategy, including employee value proposition, performance, reward and benefits, sustainable engagement, and business performance.
Business
  • Develop consistent global guidelines for the Bank\'s non-insurable benefits offerings, which can be incorporated into local policies, taking into account the wellbeing of colleagues and with a focus on maximising employees\' experience of benefits provided by the Bank.
  • Develop an effective approach to the analysis of global health and benefits data and provide insight to prioritise activity in a coordinated approach - data to include medical plans, health risk assessments, absenteeism and sickness, occupational health, as well as flexible benefit choices.
  • Identify and develop appropriate health-based interventions and initiatives to support the active management of health costs in partnership with the Insurable Benefits Manager.
  • Manage and monitor an effective approach to the analysis of health and benefits data at a local level, working with, and developing the skills of local teams, as well as with third parties.
  • Identify, develop and implement new initiatives to continue positioning the Bank as a diverse and inclusive employer of choice.
  • Support and provide subject matter expertise on design of non-insurable benefits within local offerings.
  • Partner with the HR and Benefits Operations teams in India and identify opportunities to harmonise and simplify benefits processes to drive efficiencies across the Bank.
  • Manage key global policies, including contract management and periodic review, where applicable, with support from the Benefits Operations team.
Processes
  • Process mapping to capture and maintain global benefits processes.
  • The HR Change Office in relation to benefits change requests.
  • Ensure holistic assessment of requests taking into account impact to systems, payroll, and benefits processes.
  • Where material/new Benefits Change is implemented, lead the assessment of current and development of new end-to-end designs and their translation into processes.
Risk Management & Governance
Take responsibility for -
  • Reflecting the Bank\'s governance requirements in the development of solutions for markets. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring the appropriate consultations and approvals are sought ahead of benefit changes being implemented.
  • Facilitating business input towards the Bank\'s risk and governance requirements in relation to assigned contractual relationships (e.g., Third Party Risk, Cloud Governance, Outsourcing, Information & Cyber Security (ICS).
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\'s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Other Responsibilities
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of benefit offerings and new trends and developments in benefit design and governance for countries in the Bank\'s footprint.
  • Take the lead or support on benefit projects as may be agreed from time to time within the team, for example, roll-out of flexible benefits or review of leave practices.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business, public health, HR or related field.
  • Overall 8+ year of experience in Human Resource with 5+ years relevant in Employee Benefits programs.
  • Familiarity with analytical software would be a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience of the diversity of benefits legislation, customs and practices across the Group\'s footprint, with associated complexities of plan administration and payroll processes.
  • An understanding of the range of delivery approaches for different benefits.
  • Experience of best practice within major multinational companies.
  • Experience of change and benefits process re-engineering preferred.
  • Communication skills to articulate complex issues simply and comprehensibly.
  • Ability to interface and influence at all levels or the organisation, including with senior leadership.
  • Proven abilities in vendor management and establishing effective partnerships with external service providers to ensure a high-quality service to the Bank.
  • The ability to work independently; identifying and prioritising key issues and then managing them through to conclusion.
  • Focus on high standards, quality and high attention to detail.
