About the role

What you need to know:

As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.

As a key member of the Country HR team, the role is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of innovative Global, Regional and Local HR strategies and solutions that support the country strategic business agenda , and broader human capital plan for AIG\xe2\x80\x99s General Insurance business unit. The role will support the continued evolution of a country HR service delivery model that delivers value-add, and drives operational modernization and efficiency efforts.

  • Partnering with designated business/functional stakeholders to identify and deliver HR solutions that build competitive advantage, enhance organization performance and realize the business\xe2\x80\x99 strategies
  • Provide advisory, coaching and execution support for business change
  • Support the delivery of key cyclical HR activities and processes at a country level (e.g. performance management, talent reviews, succession planning etc.) and ad hoc HR projects as required
  • Working in collaboration with HR colleagues including Centers Of Expertise (COEs), Regional and Global HR Leads, and HR Shared Services to deliver integrated HR support and solutions to clients, and to ensure alignment with Global HR strategy, tools and processes
  • Proactively identify, manage and mitigate people risk
  • Partner with management and COE on culture, organizational design, diversity, employee engagement, and compensation and performance management for the responsible business units
  • Mitigate employment risk by ensuring the responsible business units conform to all relevant statutory and employment law requirements.
  • Ensure HR policies are consistently interpreted and applied across the responsible business units
  • Role model of the AIG values and behaviors
What we are looking for
  • Strong experience in a HR Generalist/Business Partner/HR Management role (Insurance and/or Financial Services industry experience preferred)
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
  • Broad generalist HR experience across multiple HR practice areas including talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development, compensation & benefits, performance management and employee relations
  • Strong operational generalist experience, with in-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures and risks
  • Sound business acumen and thorough understanding of business fundamentals
  • Experience working for a multinational organization and within a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze trends related to recurring issues and recommend solutions
  • Highly developed problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of country HR legislation, regulations, policies and practices
  • Customer focused; with demonstrated ability to build and maintain sound working relationships with business and functional colleagues
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the presence and ability to interact and build credibility across all levels of staff
  • Team player; collaborator with can do attitude
