Description

The data analyst is responsible to conduct the conversion of data into insights that will support informed business decisions. He is also responsible for generating periodic reports. Analyst will partner directly with stakeholders within HR and within the Bank. Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on trends and insights that have been identified by stakeholders e.g., Staff cost trends and resource management.
  • Develop and communicate insights and recommend actions to stakeholders to reduce risk or improve business productivity.
  • Be the custodian and owner of selected databases within HR.
  • Main focal person for periodic and BAU reports.
  • Provide governance to data inputs into core databases.
  • Provide support on SQL, Power BI and Python, as business is embarking on self-service journey for business intelligence and analytics.
  • To have oversight in the migration of current HR Databases and dashboards to the bank’s data sandbox and BI model, including the maintenance of related documentation.
  • To have oversight in the design and development of automation tools for BAU reports.
  • To support adhoc HR initiatives as required

Qualifications

Requirements
  • 2 to 3 years of related experience in data analytics/engineering
  • A degree in Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Information Technology, Data Sciences, Math or related fields is a plus
  • Experience in SQL and VBA is a must
  • Experience in BI tools, especially Power BI is a plus
  • Experience in Python is a plus
  • Knowledge in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a plus
  • Passionate about solving problems – possesses a relentless need for investigation and data exploration
  • A driven self-starter who is delivery focused and possesses strong communication, influencing and presentation skills
  • Robust stakeholder management skills and good interpersonal skills. Ability to work confidently and collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders of varying seniority.
  • Strong foundation in data query/manipulation of large-scale data using SQL
  • Experience in Business Intelligence (BI) or Data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience in data analysis tools such as Python or R, with the interest to learn more advanced data analysis methods
  • Experience in data modelling, inferential statistics and machine learning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator to both technical and business audiences
  • Ability to make sound judgement calls independently when presented with difficult decisions, or when only partial information is available
  • Results and detail-oriented, with strong intuitions on how to solve problems creatively and quickly
  • Keen learner who is constantly seeking continuous improvement in work processes
