Summary: What you need to know about the role: PayPal is seeking an experienced APAC-focused Indirect Tax professional, to be based in Singapore.Meet our team: The successful candidate will work closely with, and provide support to, other tax team members, the business and wider finance teams (e.g. Controllership and Treasury) as well as other internal and external stakeholders across the region.:Your way to impact:The primary responsibility of this role is to provide tax planning guidance and support relating to Indirect Taxes across APAC (excluding China and India), for all PayPal group entities. This would include providing detailed technical advice, managing indirect tax risks and audits, and leading process improvements.In your day-to-day role you will:

• Advise on all business initiatives, transactions, new product launches, commercial arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, and vendor/partner agreements
• Monitor, analyze and evaluate the impact of all indirect tax regulatory developments impacting PayPal, and initiate/execute system and process changes as relevant
• Build strong relationships across business and finance teams as well as other stakeholders and provide clear, consistent, and comprehensive indirect tax guidance in a timely manner
• Manage indirect tax controversy, including researching issues under audit and presenting options for resolution to the Tax Leadership team, and ensuring comprehensive and timely responses to the Tax authorities
• Collaborate with all other teams within the Tax department to ensure all aspects of other taxes are considered when providing indirect tax advice
• Support other teams within the Tax department on department-wide initiatives and deliverables
• Provide guidance on compliance processes and identify and help improve any gaps in processes
• Design and provide regular training on indirect taxes to the relevant teams, including AP, R2R and various business teams
• Develop a strong understanding of PayPal\xe2\x80\x99s business and operating structure
• Develop plans and strategies to mitigate indirect tax risks and optimize opportunities

What do you need to bring:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or a related field from an accredited institution
• 10+ years of indirect tax experience from working in public accounting firms and / or large multinational corporations
• Knowledge of project planning and execution in relation to indirect tax regulatory changes
• Good command of English, with excellent written, oral and presentation skills as well as the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to non-tax audiences
• Self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills
• Critical thinker, with the ability to work across regions and functions in a fast-paced environment
• Exposure to ERPs (such as SAP) would be an advantage
