The Apple IS&T's Supply Chain Integration team for Infrastructure is responsible for architecting, designing, deploying and managing various Infrastructure life cycle processes. We work with numerous Application development teams as well as production support teams operating on on-premise and approved cloud technologies like AWS and GCP. As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will partner closely with Application development, DevSecOps and Apple Production support teams and participate in administering critical Apple systems on-premise and cloud supporting various platforms, automating infrastructure needs, environments, developing automated solutions, installing, and configuring required software, and upkeep of systems through patching, upgrades, monitoring, and maintenance support! We are looking for highly hands-on candidate with intellectual curiosity and deep knowledge on RCA and recommending, implementing the best SRE/DevOps methodologies and ability to solve complex issues with creative ideas.


Key Qualifications


  • 6-10 years of experience in systems administration like Oracle fusion middleware, Oracle databases performance tuning, SQL, DevOps and cloud experience preferably AWS.
  • Experience with container based technologies such as EKS, GKE, Docker and Kubernetes
  • knowledge on AWS services including VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, RDS, Route53. Experience in similar services for GCP is preferred.
  • Oracle Fusion BPM/SOA administration, Oracle database and PL/SQL Performance tuning experience.
  • Experience with MongoDB, Other NoSQL databases is preferred
  • Improving CI/CD tools, processes and procedures as required.
  • Design and work with modern continuous integration and deployment solutions.
  • Experience designing and building CI/CD pipeline with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Kubernetes etc
  • Experience in Spark, Kafka, Zookeeper, Redis and other in-memory technologies is a plus.
  • Good understanding of micro-services architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to write programs using a high-level programming languages or scripting, such Java, JavaScript, Python, Shell etc.
  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex Unix/Linux systems environment and applications implementations.
  • Experience with logging infrastructure and using tools such as Splunk
  • Ability to build tools from scratch when needed
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for collaborating across many participating teams.


Description


Working in Infrastructure engineering and support team will expose you to a variety of challenges in Apple’s Supply Chain domain. Our team will be responsible for deploying, testing, operating and monitoring application releases. You will be working closely with global teams and in a multi-vendor resourcing model. As member of this team you will be empowered to work across multiple tools to improve and expand the capabilities the team has to offer and with sheer focus on ensuring DevOps pipeline is closely monitored and acted on. This may include: • Design and implement new software to streamline manual operations wherever required. • Maintain primarily Linux and other types of systems on-premise and cloud like AWS, GCP. • Triage production issues along with other dev, infra and production support team members • Conduct root cause analysis of critical issues in large-scale distributed systems • The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, completely hands-on, dynamic and detail oriented individual with a strong technical background. Be part of a fast growing Infrastructure operations team with a rare and rewarding opportunity to: • Enable zero-downtime deployment process through the use of continuous delivery practices, rapidly releasing features etc • Work with QA, security, and development teams to craft solutions • Developing self-service tools to enhance developer productivity for application management as necessarily required. • Actively analyze and handle issues on with platforms before they impact end-users • Be a key player in improving operational maturity though producing long term fixes from issues identified and enable team accordingly. • Collaborate on microservices systems architecture design. • Ability to participate in and after hours on-call rotation schedule. • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
