Your role

We are looking for someone who can work with the UBS Next team and innovation stakeholders across UBS group to:

• work closely with senior key stakeholders to define a roadmap of strategic themes and use cases to be addressed through innovation activities and partnerships
• run market screenings to understand trends and identify potential external (FinTech) partners
• Produce in-house Intelligence deep dives that build thought leadership on identified key strategic themes & the future of finance
• plan and hold cross-divisional ideation workshops that aim to inform, engage and inspire collaboration with business leaders, collectively generate actionable Innovation opportunities and drive consensus on the prioritized book of work
• lead the conception and execution of strategic projects at the intersection of internal capabilities and external partnerships
• drive strategic and commercial due diligence into potential fintech partners for selected transactions in conjunction with investment team
• provide updates on innovation to senior management and support ad-hoc requests

Your team

UBS Next is the venture and innovation unit of UBS group. We play an active role in securing the future of UBS and our clients.

We conduct applied research and exploration in the latest business models & emerging technology shaping the future of finance. UBS Next continuously connects with the wider ecosystem of game-changers in this space. We make strategic investments in fintech and tech companies through our VC investment arm and execute innovation projects in our incubator. We aim to move at startup-speed within a regulated bank.

You will be part of an enthusiastic, agile and global team that is committed to fostering and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in order to strengthen our firm and bring value to our clients.

Your expertise

• 8+ years of relevant work experience (e.g. strategy / management consulting, business growth or new product / venture development), financial services a plus
• a strong interest in researching in-depth fintech trends, exploring disruptive business models, emerging technologies and the future of financial services
• a structured approach to conducting impact assessments, building recommendation proposals and formulating a plan of action for project initiation
• influential presenter, communicating effectively across business and technology teams, seniority levels, as well as with clients to identify and validate opportunities
• a team player with consultative approach and the ability to generate consensus, ensure buy-in and drive tangible outcomes
• fluent in English, other languages a plus (e.g. Mandarin / Cantonese)
