Insurance Manager (Commercial Risk)

This position sits with a Large multi-territory bank, based in Asia and has a dual reporting line to the real estate team based in Singapore. The position will provide insurance advice and support including efficient oversight and execution of the renewal process, working closely with appointed brokers.

What the day will look like

• Preparation of renewal tasks, coordinating communications to business units, ensuring completeness and accuracy of underwriting submission and educating entities on requirements
• Work with the relevant internal and external teams to establish a process for the procurement of insurances
• Maintain and manage regional data for corporate programs
• Maintain a database of underwriting information / data and l insurance policies
• Develop and update insurance manuals and templates as appropriate
• Claims management support and communication

Skills and experience that will lead to success

General Requirements

• Degree with a professional qualification in insurance
• Five to ten years general insurance industry experience in Asia
• Understand real estate operations and related insurance practices
• Excellent communication skills: draft directives, effectively explain technical insurance issues, prepare memos and reports for a senior audience
• Establish good working relationships with brokers, insurers, vendors, internal and external clients
• Ad hoc projects to review insurance risk management initiatives
• Flexibility regarding assignments; responsiveness to the needs of the bank

Specific Skills

• General knowledge of local and international insurance practices
• Background knowledge of financial lines insurance solutions
• Interpersonal skills; able to interface with all levels of personnel and different cultures
• General knowledge of legal process; experience in working directly with legal counsel
• Administrative and organizational skills critical; excellent time management skills, flexibility and management of a variety of tasks simultaneously is necessary
