The Intermediate Interior Designer plays a vital role in supporting the creative and technical delivery of interior design projects from concept through completion. The role requires strong design sensibility, proficiency in BIM (Revit), and the ability to translate design intent into precise documentation while collaborating with team members, consultants, and clients.
This position bridges creative design and technical execution, contributing to the successful realization of high-quality commercial, corporate, and interior fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development of design concepts, space planning, and presentations that align with client objectives and project goals.
Translate approved design concepts into detailed technical drawings and BIM models independently using Revit.
Prepare layout plans, detailed drawings, and construction documentation to ensure design intent is accurately represented.
Collaborate with the Senior Designer and Design Manager during all design stages -- from schematic design to project handover.
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design discussions to clarify requirements and gather feedback.
Support coordination with the Project Management and Quantity Surveyor teams for costing, detailing, and buildability.
Conduct site visits and assist in inspections to ensure work aligns with design intent and quality standards.
Maintain and update the BIM model library, drawings, and project documentation according to company standards.
Assist in material sourcing and sample selection, liaising with vendors and suppliers for quotations and technical information.
Stay current on design trends, new materials, and emerging BIM technologies to enhance design efficiency.
Perform ad-hoc design-related duties and contribute ideas for process improvement within the design team.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design
, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum
3-5 years
of professional experience in interior design, preferably in
corporate
, commercial, or hospitality sectors.
Proficient in Revit (BIM) -- able to develop and manage project drawings
without a BIM coordinator's support.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite
(Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong understanding of space planning, detailing, and material application.
Knowledge of local regulations, submission requirements, and building codes.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively across departments.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
Creative, proactive, and adaptable with a passion for continuous learning and design excellence.
Open to Singapore Citizens only.
Must be able to work on-site at client locations or at the office as required (within Singapore).
Submission of portfolio and BIM (Revit) work samples is mandatory for consideration.
