Title: Test Wafer Lifetime Modeling to maximize wafer lifecycle.

Project Description:

Test Wafers are non-production wafers, either Bare Si or film coated, used for equipment qualification e.g. process/recipe changes, checking for additional Particle/defects to the wafer post process, or for seasoning/conditioning/break-in of equipment post maintenance to achieve the desired performance. For each specific use case, there are different types of test wafers required. Some test wafers would need to have a specific thickness or pass a specific particle count. To maximize cost efficiency, Test Wafers are recycled, or re-purposed from different types of test wafers, to prolong the life span and avoid starting new Test Wafers, this is also known as downgrade.

Test wafer lifetime modeling is to explore through a suitable data structure, the possible paths of downgrade without needing to start new wafers. From this, we are looking for an optimal way to visualize and give guidance on downgrade path flows for Shift personnel to make informed decisions. The factors considered would be usage demand, current inventory of test wafers at point of use or Recycle stage, and availability of new Test wafers in the warehouse.

The objective of the algorithm is to give prescriptive insights to recommend the most cost efficient and timely fulfillment of user demand i.e informed decision to start new Test wafers or identify compatible Test wafers to downgrade.

Possible Learning Outcomes: Python (pandas/SQLAlchemy/networkx), SQL, Javascript (React/D3)/Visualization tools e.g. Tableau
