What the role is:The operating environment of the Public Service is undergoing fundamental and rapid change. The issues we face are complex and multi-faceted, which impact the way the Public Service operates and organises itself. Internally, the changes in workforce profile have necessitated a new approach in how the workplace is designed, while the pervasiveness of technology has fundamentally changed the way we conduct our business. To prepare the Public Service for these changes, we have begun the journey towards Public Sector Transformation. We seek to continually transform the Public Service to better serve Singaporeans. We do this by championing Public Sector innovation, transforming citizen and business service delivery, building a future workplace, and supporting transformation efforts in the Ministries and Statutory Boards. Key Responsibilities You will be part of the Service Policy and Leadership team in ServiceSG and will report to the Assistant Director (Service Policy and Leadership ). ServiceSG, a department within PSD, has been set up to champion integrated public service delivery. It works with different agencies across the public service to integrate over 400 services around key moments of life of citizens, and serve citizens in an integrated way, through a central omni-channel service delivery system comprising a digital platform (\xe2\x80\x9cLifeSG\xe2\x80\x9d), a network of physical service centres at Community Centres and libraries (\xe2\x80\x9cIntegrated Public Service Centres\xe2\x80\x9d) and a central call/contact centre. ServiceSG will work to establish an integrated data, digital architecture, and clear inter-agency operational processes as part of service delivery capabilities within the Public Service to raise overall service standards.What you will be working on:[Specific Job Responsibilities] As an Analytics Intern, you will: \xe2\x80\xa2 Work closely with analysts and officers to identify trends, patterns, insights and validate hypotheses from selected datasets. \xe2\x80\xa2 Dive into deeper qualitative insights and identify \xe2\x80\x9csub-categories\xe2\x80\x9d of data sets. \xe2\x80\xa2 Sanitise, reconcile, and analyse datasets from different data and system sources, including the use of Python and R-scripting. \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with cross-functional teams via huddles, brainstorming and team meetings, to identify opportunities to improve implement data-driven solutions to business problems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop visualisation dashboards and reports to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders for service improvements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Support the team to improve extraction and collation of raw datasets from multiple systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain accurate and up-to-date data documentation of data analytics processes and results.What we are looking for:We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled analytics intern to join the ServiceSG Service Policy and Leadership team for a period of 6 months (preferred) . The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing data sets (with a focus on qualitative data) to provide insights that will drive business decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience with R-scripting, data manipulation techniques and use of data visualisation tools. [Competencies Required]: \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, etc). \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong knowledge of data manipulation and analysis techniques in R-scripting. \xe2\x80\xa2 Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent time management skills, with attention to detail and initiative to resolve issues encountered in tasks given. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task. \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to communicate and collaborate effectively and appropriately with different professionals in the work environment through written and oral means. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong interest in translating raw data into narrative using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyse underlying issue(s) to challenges.About Public Service Division:[About PSD] The Public Service Division (PSD) aims to build a first-class Public Service for a successful and vibrant Singapore.
