The Role

Position summary statement:

Its roles are to plan, direct and co-ordinate the information technology resources of the Hotel, which will include the infrastructures, applications and operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Hotel's IT infrastructure
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting and administration of servers, PCs and equipment
  • Perform desktop installation, configuration, backup and related maintenance work
  • Work closely with the external vendor support and end-users to ensure compliance to the IT policies and procedures
  • To prepare the annual IT budget that will include capital expenditure for IT, purchase of new softwares, updates, training requirements, etc. On the budget approval, the incumbent will implement the plan and ensure that the IT expenditures are well spent.
  • To develop and spearhead the IT infrastructure and support the extensive operation systems and networks. The incumbent ensures that the IT systems are operating smoothly through implementation of effective maintenance programs, installation of antivirus kits and protection of network security.
  • To monitor the operational efficiency of the IT systems and take appropriate remedial measures to correct the systems inadequacies, etc.
  • To source, evaluate and recommend IT systems for purchase and upgrade. Activities here will include developing requests for proposal (RFP), tender documents for major IT projects or IT-related sub-contractor works, performance testing, short listing of suppliers, and recommending the supplier to go with.
  • Assist with IT projects implementation and conduct user training if necessary
  • Provide any other technical support to associates and guests.
Talent Profile
  • Minimum Diploma in Information Technology/Business in Information System
  • Minimum 2-3 years of IT experience preferably with Hospitality Industry
  • Proficiency in Windows, Unix and other operating systems
  • Good knowledge of multi property emails, websites, DNS and CISCO netwroks
  • Good knowledge in Hotel operations
  • Good team player, resourceful, independent and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Helpful personality with a pleasant disposition, positive work attitude and customer oriented
  • Good interpersonal, communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop and Network Operating Systems, Antivirus and E-Mail/Internet systems
