Job Description

The Role:

User Support and Network maintenance

• Provide daily user support to all network, security and IT Infrastructure related problems
• Act as a liaison between users and vendors for trouble-shooting
• Perform and ensure regular patch maintenance is performed on network devices

Network Administration

• Responsible for network design and security particularly trouble shooting and/or debugging network related problems
• Implementation of new network solutions and risk mitigation techniques
• Perform routers, switches and firewalls administrations, including incidence response and problem rectification
• Review network routers, switches and firewalls configuration on a periodic basis and to perform housekeeping
• Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise
• To manage IT vendor and service provider to ensure that they deliver their job assignments
• Manage project and operational expenses budget and other administrative functions

Network Performance Tuning

• Work with vendor to perform network fine-tuning, performance evaluation and capacity planning
• Work with vendor to improve network infrastructure

Documentation

• Ensure inventory list and network configuration lists are kept up-to-date
• Ensure documentations are up-to-date

Disaster Recovery Planning

• Support and set-up network/system at Off-site Disaster Recovery Centre
• Update the off-site disaster recovery procedures whenever necessary
• Document the test result and recommendation

Security Administration

• Enrolment of network user profiles, ensure they are properly maintained.
• Review network logs for violation and intrusion
• Alert and manage the risks and threats arising from technology and internet.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external audit recommendations
• Conduct IT Security checking report on a periodic basis

Qualifications and Experience

• University or Polytechnic graduate in Information Technology or equivalent
• At least 5 years or above working experience in Network and Security
• In-depth knowledge of Firewalls (preferably Palo Alto/FortiGate), VPN, IPS/IDS, NAC (preferably Cisco Identity Service Engine)
• Good exposure to routing, switching and firewalls
• Network, Security, Firewall and/or ITIL certifications are highly advantageous
