Serve as IT Specialist (INFOSEC) responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of agency-wide systems, networks, and data .
Develop and implement security programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the security, reliability, accessibility of information systems, networks, and data
Furnish technical advice and direction to the Branch, Branch Chief as well as ENS staff with responsibility for enterprise-wide information systems security design, development, strategic planning, and IT project management.
Participate in the development of plans, policies, standards and programs in the areas of IT related to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) standards, the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) standards.
Advise agency management on actual or potential information system security problems and new Departmental or Federal requirements or directions.
Plan and coordinate major agency IT enterprise-wide information systems (INFOSEC) security development efforts,
Plan and develop long-range objectives and milestones for IT projects that involve substantive, mission-oriented programs, such as projects and/or changes to IT infrastructure to meet an agency's modified business processes.
Develop IT security policy, guidelines, and standards for the planning, integration, implementation, and evaluation of IT security systems and subsystems to ensure that overall information security needs of major organizational units are met

Specialized Experience:
Qualifying experience for GS-14 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-13 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position,
have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service that included:
Providing situational awareness to both management and customers through regular reporting about security risks to the WAN;
Developing long range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems;
Ensuring information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices are applied in the delivery of systems administration services;
Evaluating risks associated with IT system vulnerabilities and applies advanced statistical data and market trends from which to interpret meaning and evaluate findings. .
