Job Description

A) JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Server administration (Physical and virtual)
  • Storage administration
  • Windows server administration
  • Linux administration
  • Pro-actively analyze, monitor, pre-empt, diagnose and troubleshoot server related problems.
  • Monitor performance and maintain servers according to requirements
  • Troubleshoot and investigate server issues and outages
  • Ensure security through access controls and backup
  • Identify technical environment issues and implement solutions to mitigate problems
  • Perform routine proactive server maintenance activities including firmware upgrades, patching etc.
  • Research and test recurring problems, determine anomalies within supported software applications and implement permanent resolutions to mitigate problems
  • Update and create technical product trouble-shooting documentation
  • Assists with input on server projects
  • Analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design and installation of new and existing computer systems
  • Perform advanced proactive server maintenance activities
  • Optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary
  • Develop processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment
  • Build servers based on the designs developed by working closely with the project team to gather and interpret specifications for Server Hardware and Software
  • Work closely with relevant parties to ensure a smooth implementation and transition of the servers and related products
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
B) JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in IT or any other related field
  • At least 4-5 years of working experience in server support role
  • Advanced Windows server and Linux server support and administration experience
  • Major incident management
  • Coordinating tasks/issues with stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge of VMWare ESX Server
  • Can multitask and work even under pressure
  • Knowledge hungry and have willing to learn attitude
  • Customer-oriented, able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
C) OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Directly reports to IT Assistant Manager and Manager
  • Experience in BPO or POGOI industry is an advantage
  • Must be willing to do 24/7 shift.
  • Work on holidays and must be on call if needed
  • Must be willing to render overtime when needed
  • Any related certifications will do
