Job Description


Position Title: IT Support & Operations Operator Position Reports To: IT Lead (SEA) FLSA Status: Exempt Prepared Date: Jul 2022 Position Summary Directly reporting to the IT Lead (SEA) . The department functions as shared service centre for SEA region and for several of Fugro vessels. The IT Support and Operations Operator focuses on the assistance of end users. He/She is the first point of contact for service requests in the event of IT requests and/or incidents within Singapore and SEA, he/she will also monitor the progress of the solution. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Service Desk – receives service requests; registers request or problem; solve technical or functional 1st line incidents; escalates 2nd line incidents and monitor progress; provides advice to users to prevent repetitions.
  • Workplace Support – setup and configures computers, auxiliary equipment and telecom equipment (desk phone, mobile); setup and configures software; solves technical or functional 1st and 2nd line incidents regarding computer and telephony
  • Configuration Management – registers software, hardware and telecom appliance of users; manage access to use of software, hardware and telecom appliances; flags up and limit illegal software, uncontrolled growth and diversity of versions
  • Projects – executes/participates in departmental projects and additional implementation work
Qualifications To successfully meet the remits of this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/ Experience Typically, a Diploma in IT or IT related field from any of the local Polytechnics, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure, and administration. Required Experience:
  • At least 2-3 years of in IT infrastructure
  • Experience in Windows servers administration
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows domain, policies and administration.
  • Willing to learn new technologies and a self-motivator
  • Good communication skills
