An exciting IT System Engineer job opportunity has become available at the Singapore office of a global investment management firm with over $2B AUM and a portfolio spanning across 30 markets. This person will be responsible for systems support and have growth opportunities to take on more challenging projects in collaboration with the application development team.

About the IT System Engineer Role:
This role is responsible for the operational elements of the day-to-day running of desktops, servers, network equipment and telephony administration related to IT Infrastructure environment while acting as an escalation point for the infrastructure support team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance
• Perform troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
• Determine and implement the best solution based on the issue and details provided by users
• Provide continuous systems and security monitoring across a follow-the-sun global infrastructure
• Independently complete software development initiatives that may include quality assurance, data validation and systems monitoring

To succeed in the IT System Engineer job, you must have at least three years of experience in infrastructure support and good knowledge in key technologies such as VMWare, Windows, Active Directory, VPN, and fundamentals of networking.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma/degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of three to five years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar capacity
• Proficiency with Windows Desktop/Servers, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365
• Basic programming skills or aptitude to pick up programming/scripting (writing automation scripts using Powershell is key, Python, SQL)
• Knowledge of VMWare, Citrix, Linux, SQL server and basic data querying is an advantage
• Good knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through is required
• Strong technical, analytical, and organisational skills
