IT System Manager

We are looking for a pro-active and highly driven individual to take on the role of IT System Manager, Baggage IT in Changi Airport Group. She/he will identify, evaluate, and recommend industry solutions; and work with both internal and external stakeholders as well as industry partners to implement and manage CAG's Baggage Transformation initiatives, which includes supporting existing baggage information initiatives, as well as, developing new capabilities to enhance the overall baggage operations and to elevate the passenger baggage experience at Changi.

The candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; rejoice in enabling others to succeed; have an insatiable passion for new IT technologies; and possess strong business acumen to understand and work with business stakeholders within and outside of the organization. He/she should have strong leadership, team spirit and sense of responsibility, equipped with good IT knowledge in discovering and solving complicated problems within a complex environment.

Job Scope & Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to perform the following:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of baggage operations and the baggage eco-system at Changi, which includes its intricacies, key stakeholders, systems that support baggage operations, baggage data and how they are now used to manage baggage operations, generate insight through the data and develop specific use cases for data sharing across the key stakeholders.
  • Work with the appointed vendors, technology partners & other CAG stakeholders to strategize, develop, , deploy, and provide operation support & maintenance of Baggage IT initiatives; and to ensure delivered solutions meet technical, functional, security, performance, and business requirements.
  • Establish the related key performance indicators (KPIs) & work with the internal technical teams and appointed vendor to track & monitor them accordingly.
  • Perform proper project and operation management to ensure delivered solutions meet technical, functional, performance and business requirements.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and industry, be in the know about latest industry developments relating to baggage and be able to assess and articulate potential impact to CAG and provide recommendations of actions we should take.
Qualification & Requirement
  • An accredited degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Have at least 6 years of hands-on experience in the IT industry with software development and project management experience. Candidates who have experience working with an airport operator, airline, ground handling agent, industry solution providers especially with baggage handling knowledge, would be favourably considered.
  • Strong project management skills, self-starter with an analytical and continually curious mindset to learn more, motivated to "make lives better" for all stakeholders and passengers.
  • Good communication, verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively describe and demonstrate proposed solutions/ideas to internal and external parties.
  • Good technical experience, knowledge, and understanding of:
  • Software development and solutioning
  • Network infrastructure and public clouds such as AWS, Azure
  • Cybersecurity and compliance e.g. ISO 27001
  • IT Service Management Best Practices e.g. ITSM, ITIL
