Junior Sous Chef

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and excellence in execution and presentation. Prepare dishes in line with established recipes, techniques, and plating standards that reflect Willow's culinary philosophy. Contribute to menu development through thoughtful input on new dishes, seasonal ingredients, and modern interpretations of Asian cuisine. Maintain a high level of mise en place readiness, ensuring efficiency and precision during service. Uphold the highest standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and organization, ensuring compliance with all health regulations. Assist in managing ingredient quality, stock rotation, and procurement of premium produce from trusted suppliers. Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting teamwork, respect, and a culture of learning within the kitchen. Demonstrate initiative and professionalism under pressure, maintaining composure during high-volume or high-profile services.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a

fine-dining or Michelin-starred restaurant

, ideally with exposure to Japanese or Contemporary Asian cuisine. Strong technical foundation in modern and traditional cooking methods, with excellent attention to detail. Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining consistency and precision. Deep respect for ingredients, seasonality, and the art of presentation. Culinary diploma or equivalent professional certification preferred. A team player with a disciplined, humble, and growth-oriented mindset.
