Laboratory Officer (brc)
Job Description
Reporting to a Section Leader, the successful candidate will provide everyday oversight in husbandry of a variety of laboratory animals and their environment. The successful candidate will receive training in the best husbandry practices and will be expected to implement this. In addition, he/she will assist the scientific staff which will include daily observations and recordings; and working with the Veterinarians in monitoring colony health. He/she is also encouraged to work for further qualifications in laboratory animal sciences.
Requirements:
At least a Diploma in scientific subjects such as General Biology, Veterinary or Laboratory Animal Science
Preferably with at least 1 year of experience working with laboratory animals
Training will be provided for candidate without prior experience
Good team player and communication skills
Good computer skills in Microsoft Words, Excel and Outlook)
May have to carry heavy objects from one location to another
Successful candidate will need to work on weekends
