Laboratory Technician

Job Description


Reporting to Chemist, this position will perform laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process and finished product samples for the chemical manufacturing plant in accordance to the requirements of the Company’s quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory analytical work in accordance to the approved procedures
  • Conduct laboratory analysis and reporting in a timely and accurate manner
  • Carry out internal calibration in accordance to the prescribed intervals specified in the SOP and ensure that laboratory measuring and test equipment are properly maintained in good working condition
  • Ensure calibration records are properly recorded and maintained in accordance to the SOP
  • Prepare laboratory reagent in accordance to the requirements of the SOP
  • Perform sample sampling in the chemical plant
  • Update and maintain the inventory records of chemicals and laboratory supplies accurately and promptly
  • Perform housekeeping for the laboratory and ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance to the SOP
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Chemistry or a related discipline, or GCE ‘O’ Level with at least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and skills in handling laboratory equipment is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated, independent and resourceful
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Able to perform rotating shift work
  • Willing to work in Jurong Island
  • Able to perform overtime work if required
