We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Animal and Plant Health & Nutrition (APH&N) application laboratory in Singapore.

The team for you to join

The Animal Health & Nutrition group of Chr. Hansen provides documented and cost-effective microbial feed solutions to increase productivity in livestock farming while providing healthy economic returns to producers. We lead the industry in the selection, development, production and distribution of beneficial live microbials. The Plant Health & Nutrition business unit provides microbial crop protection solutions for better farming and sustainable agriculture focusing on bionematicides, biostimulants and biofungicides.

The APH&N application laboratory is responsible for the commercial and technical sales support for the Animal and Plant Health businesses in APAC. The work is within bacteriology including enumeration (by the colony forming units' assay), pathogen inhibition assays, compatibility, stability studies and molecular assays (qPCR and microbiome analysis).

What would your role look like?

• Plan, design and conduct from simple to complex laboratory experiments in an autonomous way
• Preparing detailed reports with results, recommendations and conclusions and be able to synthetize and have a critical view of the results
• Critical evaluation of methods and results
• Contribution to value creation for our customers
• Estimating the resources and time required to conduct an experiment and monitoring performance to ensure these targets are met
• Purchasing and inventory management
• Good communication internally and externally of their results and other activities of the laboratory, including our innovation, commercial and sales teams
• Performing routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order and propose for changes if needed
• Experiments performed with high reliability and be proactive with new ideas for improvement
• Super-user of relevant equipment
• Follow hygienic and safety rules from the Department and Site
• Responsible for revealing any non-conformity observed during the daily work.
• Applies own expertise to contribute to a task or a project they are involved in

Who are we looking for?

• Professionally trained laboratory technician or similar science education with experience in microbiology and molecular tools
• Technical Communication in English (speaking and writing)
• Proficiency in most common computer programs such as Outlook, Excel and Word
• Teamworking attitude and customer centricity
• Multi-tasking Skills
• Independent, flexible, pro-active and problem-solving attitude
• Passionate, enthusiastic, a fast learner, curious and open minded
• Structured, quality oriented and a self-starter
