About the Unit

Yara is the world\'s largest producer of ammonia, nitrates and NPKs, offering solutions for sustainable agriculture respecting the environment. Our fertilizers and our crop nutrition programs were designed to help the sector of food production and to meet the needs of a growing world population. Our products and solutions help industry reduce emissions, improve air quality and prioritize effective operations safely.

Yara Africa & Asia (YAA) produces, sells, distributes and markets fertilizers and industrial products across Asia Pacific and Africa regions, with offices location and operational units in 20 countries. The region employs over 1800 employees and has a long history in the Asian Pacific and African markets, focusing on develop crop nutrition concepts that increase food production and create value to the growers, in particular smallholder farmers, whilst minimizing environmental impact of agricultural activities.

YAA is currently undergoing a major transformation, aimed at shifting the existing business models, generating new revenue streams and ultimately delivering profit through new Farming Solutions related activities.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary point of contact for data and information architecture and take responsibility for data & analytics technical project delivery
• Manage and build a team of data engineers, architects & BI analysts to support analytics roadmap
• Design and maintain a consistent source of truth for all data in the ecosystem
• Create, manage and support DIKW (Data, Information, Knowledge, Wisdom) asset portfolios related to digital solutions in the portfolio
• Support digital products & analytics teams in terms of data architecture design, integrations, pipelining etc.
• Enable downstream functionalities such as data analytics, business intelligence and machine learning
• Closely work with DevOps and Platform team to setup the required capability, capacity and tooling

Profile

• Have led a team of engineers to build and manage the data ecosystem from source till end consumption.
• Proficient in traditional and big database systems, NoSQL data, data modelling and data warehousing concepts.
• Worked with scalable architectures (lambda, containers etc.)
• Preferred: Ability to code in Python, JavaScript; Experience in data extraction, web parsing etc.
• Strong personal/professional interest in the LSM segments (developing countries, low-income markets, etc.) and agriculture in general.
• Comfortable working with our tools: AWS, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Docker, Python, Airflow.
• Aligned with our principles: agile, customer-centric, lean, service-oriented architecture, self-organization, transparency.
• Knowledgeable in applied statistical methods, visualization, database queries and leveraging Excel / PowerPoint / dashboards for communication to stakeholder
