What the role is:The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore. We are looking for aspired candidates to be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team that look into the management, development and delivery of robotics, autonomation and unmanned systems in the air, land and maritime domains; to enhance the operational effectiveness of our Home Team.What you will be working on:

• Responsible for the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for robotic systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Involve in the design, development and deployment of AI algorithms related to single robot operation, e.g., cognitive, perception, navigation, manipulation, and grasping, etc., and for multiple robots operation, e.g., multi-robot collaboration and coordination, and swarm robotics, etc. \xe2\x80\xa2 Serve as a subject matter expert and lead technical developer for AI-driven robotic systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Keep abreast with the latest research and development of AI for robotic systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Harness emerging AI technology to develop new concepts that can enhance the autonomy of robotic systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers passionate in autonomous robotic systems development. \xe2\x80\xa2 Participate in the end-to-end robotic systems\' capabilities development and delivery. \xe2\x80\xa2 Liaise and work with internal/external stakeholders, and vendors to deliver AI-driven robotic systems. Ensure the budget, requirements and schedules are adhered to. \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare technical specifications, design documents, test plans and test reports. \xe2\x80\xa2 Work closely with other engineers to conduct tests and trials of the deployed AI solutions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide regular updates to management on project progress, highlighting project milestones, issues, and expenditure.

What we are looking for:

• Possesses in-depth knowledge in but not limited to Machine Learning, Machine Vision, Natural Language Processing and Distributed AI (Swarm Intelligence and Multi-agent system). \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in autonomous robotic systems development and delivering advanced solutions, e.g., multi-robot collaboration and cooperation, swarm robotics, semantic navigation, perception-based locomotion, etc. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good track record in algorithm development and implementation. Well verse in C/C++, Linux, ROS/ROS2, and Python. Experience in embedded software development and deployment would be an advantage. \xe2\x80\xa2 Possesses good understanding and implementation experience of various AI enabling technology/AI accelerators such as SBCs, DSPs, GPUs, FPGAs, and/or Cloud-Computing, etc. \xe2\x80\xa2 Preferably more than 7 years\' relevant experience. \xe2\x80\xa2 Has strong planning and project management skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 A team player with good interpersonal relationship, organizational and system management skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good verbal and written communication skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ph.D. / Master\'s / Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or related field in AI-driven Robotics, and/or Distributed AI. *** All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
