The Role Responsibilities

Agility within Standard Chartered Bank isn\xe2\x80\x99t just an implementation of Scrum or Kanban within a software development team, it\'s a new way of working (NWoW) that\'s applied across all areas of the organisation. To be successful in the role you would have to be considered a strategic thought leader by your peers, have experience in leading groups of teams in an organisational transition and have a depth of analytical understanding of a variety of New Ways of Working. Your communication skills will be tested against a wide variety of audiences as Agile is not solely applied to just the Information Technology areas of Standard Chartered Bank. You will need to be able to effectively adapt your communication approach based upon the audience\'s context and familiarity of the Agile ways of working You could be communicating with teams within technology or within other areas of the business such as Sales, Marketing, Banking Operation, HR, Finance or even Risk. You would be working as a trusted advisor to leaders in all levels within the organisation from team leaders through to Global Heads and C-Suite. Strategy

  • Coach engineers and Advocate Solution/Software Engineering best practice with alignment of way of working of Standard Chartered bank.
  • Create high performance culture where agile software engineering practice is leveraged as a strategic business asset.
  • Identify and attack organisational impediments constraining productivity, quality, early risk mitigation and continuous delivery of customer value and engineering experience.
Business
  • Apply your strengths in coaching, mentoring, advising, designing solutions through thought leadership across key organisational agility and engineering practice enablers.
  • Adapt and change your approach based upon the context that you are supporting through the cultural transition towards embedding best in class software engineering.
  • Driven by customer obsession, best engineering experience, deploy strategies to accelerate speed of change in delivery of innovative products & services.
  • Enable a culture of high performance that is highly collaborative and focused on continuous learning & improvement.
  • Contribute to building a resilient organisation to be nimble in its sense and response to the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) era.
  • Be the advocate of discipline of engineering best practice which focus on security & risk compliance, productivity and quality.
Processes
  • Challenge the \xe2\x80\x9cas is\xe2\x80\x9d way of working across engineering delivery, governance, operational model/structure, funding.
  • Apply depth of analytical understanding of a variety of New Ways of Working such as Scrum, Kanban, Human Centred Design or Design Thinking, Lean, Dynamic Work Design, A3 problem solving, Extreme Programming, Behaviour Driven Development, DevOps, Agile Friendly Operating Models and Agile HR.
  • Understand what practice, tool or technique to apply given the environment and the situation is the challenge that you will need to demonstrate mastery in using a show/tell/do approach.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of Software Engineering risk framework such as SDF (software delivery framework) and security.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Licenses and Certifications/accreditations: Scrum Master and Product Owner certification from Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org or other associations are must, Practitioner certification of Scaled Agile framework like LeSS, SaFE, Scrum@Scale, Spotify, Nexus and Human Centered Design or Design Thinking are plus.
  • Desired Professional Memberships: Association or Discipline Association Membership well regarded.
  • Have professional experience on any of these programming languages: Java, Python, C#, Haskell, JavaScript, Go, PHP, Ruby, C++, C.
  • Excellent Business Communication skills.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • 5 years hands on experience in Agile or other related disciplines (Lean Software Development, Human Centered Design).
  • 10 years experience in Information Technology.
  • 5 years leading & managing Software/ IT Projects / Teams using Agile.
  • Experience in leading transformation in non-technology functions.
  • Experience in cultural transformation.
  • Proficient in using a variety of agile delivery tools, especially Azure DevOps.
