Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank\'s operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to drive the engineering and delivery of our Channels programs. As a front-end Dev Lead, you would be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality mobile applications that meet the project requirements and align with the company\'s objectives. You will also be leading a team of front-end developers (iOS, Android and Web)

Job Purpose

We are looking for a dynamic front end dev lead that can build a world class team that ships high quality production code daily.

Technical Leadership : You will lead and mentor a team of front-end developers, providing technical guidance, best practices, and ensuring the team\'s adherence to coding standards. You will also be responsible for making architectural decisions and overseeing the technical implementation of front-end solutions.

Front-End Development : As a lead, you will be involved in hands-on development work and responsible for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code. You will work closely with designers and back-end developers to implement user interfaces and ensure seamless integration with the back-end systems.

Quality Assurance : You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the front-end codebase through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration. You will establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and performance optimization techniques.

Research and Innovation : You will stay updated with the latest front-end development trends, frameworks, and tools, and identify opportunities to enhance the team\'s productivity and efficiency. You will conduct research, evaluate new technologies, and propose improvements to the front-end development process.

Technical Expertise: Demonstrate strong expertise in mobile app development, including proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, or Objective-C, depending on the platform. Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and industry standards in mobile app development.

Platform-Specific Development: Oversee the development of mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms, ensuring that the apps are optimized for each platform\'s specific requirements, performance considerations, and user experience guidelines.

• You\'re self-motivated and have a demonstrated track record of self-learning and going above and beyond.

• Mobile App Development: Design and implement high-quality, scalable, and maintainable applications either in iOS or in Android. Collaborate with the design team to translate wireframes and user interface designs into functional and user-friendly mobile apps.

• Familiarity with the process of submitting applications to the App Store, including app provisioning, code signing, and adherence to App Store guidelines.

• Experience: Proven experience as mobile app developer, with at least 4-5 years of hands-on experience in native app development (iOS or Android)

• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is essential. Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is highly desirable

• You have A mindset of continuous learning and keeping up-to-date with the latest front-end development trends, tools, and best practices

• You\'re comfortable leading 8+ engineers by example and a strong advocate of good coding standards and like the use of coding tools that will push you to improve the code you deliver like Sonar.

• You understand the importance of thoughtful feedback, nurturing an inclusive engineering environment, championing engineering fundamentals and providing clarity and mentorship for team members to grow.

• A mindset of continuous learning and keeping up-to-date with the latest front-end development trends, tools, and best practices

• You love Git and are at home with source control concepts such as merge, rebase and pull.
