Key Responsibilities

• Site reliability engineers (SREs) combine engineering experience and an innovative drive to improve existing systems and processes, with the creativity to develop novel solutions to evolving challenges.
• responsible for the availability and reliability of critical platform services and applications, ensuring they meet the requirements of internal and external users.
• DevOps and EA-SRE engagements.
• Performance Engineering.
• Infra and TS/Network Engagements.
• Incident Management and CCTR engagements.
• Collaborate with Head of Engineering and Engineering leads to ensure quality products.
• Collaborate with Country leads and release managers to prioritize improvements.
• As the SRE lead, you are responsible to understand the requirements, analyse the functional delivery, define specification, design solutions for production stability.
• Lead the SRE team, life cycle by serving as a solution SME to help identify and qualify business development opportunities to support for the production applications.
• Oversee day-to-day team operations and coaching them as needed in task delivery
• Gather and refine specifications and touch base with Audit and risk teams to manage the incidents.
• Follow Agile Software methodologies for development.
• Fosters a culture of automated unit, feature and regression test suites.
• Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
• Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
• Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
• Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
• Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications
• Gather and analyse metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives

Do you have?

• Deep end-to-end architecture and technology experience, including front-end, middleware, databases, data warehouses within banking environments preferably in Private Banking and Wealth Management
• Strong understanding of distributed systems
• Understanding of enterprise integration and messaging patterns
• Development experience using non-relational (NoSQL, MongoDB) and relational (Maria DB, DB2, Oracle, MySQL), Kafka
• Proven experience of having solved complex analytical and technical problems
• Strong analytical skills and proven ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex analytical outcomes, linkages, and messages
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple concurrent initiatives
• Proactive and able to work under pressure, strong problem-solving skills, and positive attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Are you experienced in...

• Java8/11, Springboot, non-relational (NoSQL, MongoDB) and relational (Maria DB, DB2, Oracle, MySQL), Kafka, Git, Jenkins, DDD (Domain Driven Design), TDD (Test Driven Development).
• Understanding of private and public cloud - PCF or GCP or AWS
• Being excellent team player.

What else should I know?

Prior experience in Private Banking, Micro Service Architecture and Governance & SRE lead experience a big plus.
