Position Overview



The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible for leading the process engineering discipline for FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects from FEED through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and operation support phases. This role involves ensuring that process design meets project specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards, while optimizing performance and operability.


Key Responsibilities



Lead and manage the process engineering team for assigned FPSO projects, ensuring quality and timely deliverables. Develop, review, and approve key process engineering documents such as:

Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)


Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)


Heat and Material Balances (H&MB)


Process Datasheets for equipment and instruments


Control philosophies and operating procedures
Ensure that process design complies with HSE, regulatory, and classification society requirements (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's, etc.). Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical, Safety, Structural, and Marine) to ensure design integration. Conduct and facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews. Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases. Liaise with clients, vendors, and third-party consultants to resolve process-related issues. Evaluate process simulation and optimization using relevant software (e.g., HYSYS, UniSim, Aspen Plus). Mentor junior engineers and ensure discipline competency within the team. Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis during testing and operational phases.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum

10-15 years

of process engineering experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least

5 years in FPSO or offshore projects

. Strong experience in FEED and detailed design stages. In-depth understanding of offshore process systems such as:

Separation (oil, gas, and water)


Gas compression and dehydration


Produced water treatment


Gas lift and fuel gas systems


Chemical injection


Flare and relief systems
Proficient in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, Flarenet). Knowledge of international design codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, IEC). Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills. * Experience in leading process design reviews and HAZOP sessions.
