UWCSEA has a vacancy for a Learning and Development Specialist to support both our campuses.The Learning and Development Specialist will source, develop and deliver professional learning & development opportunities for the staff across both campuses in consultation with the Head of Professional Learning & Development (Head of PL&D) and key stakeholders.Main Responsibilities

  • Work with teams to help develop strategies and tools to successfully launch new programmes, with stakeholders to determine priorities and schedule training according to these priorities and with the Head of PL&D to design content and communicate opportunities for both in-house and external training courses to staff, including overseeing their administration.
  • Work with key stakeholders to coordinate and manage events for internal and external audiences, from evening workshops to larger scale conferences; Develop and build relationships with internal stakeholders in order to support them with their learning needs; Source, develop and build relationships with external/ internal training provider; Liaising with Procurement and Finance when needed
  • Facilitate workshops as requested and on behalf of PL&D for the UWCSEA community as and when necessary.
  • Develop, maintain, curate and improve learning resources on the intranet platform and methods for assessing learning provision and learner progress and create reports with evaluation and review processes; Maintain learning content and improve current processes and tools
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate and easily accessible records and processes for all learning and development activities and processes including recording and monitoring attendance, ensuring that staff required to attend specific workshops are easily identified and followed up, evaluation feedback is provided, invoices are paid; Communicate issues, opportunities, observations and market trends
  • Be the main point of contact for data management and reporting for the PL&D team and manage the PL&D Looker Studio or other data management tools and systems.
  • Support the Head of PL&D in the annual needs analysis and learning priority planning; Support other project/ad hoc activities of L&D Manage the delegated PL&D budgets to this role by the Head of PL&D for internal learning requests up to the agreed amount; Manage a list of Preferred Training Providers to ensure compliance and endorse internally developed training plans
Person Specifications
  • Minimum Degree in related discipline with iHRP and ACLP/ ACTA certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 year of experience in L&D (ideally in an education context)
  • Excellent English (written and spoken) with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently
  • Proactive self-starter with a high degree of flexibility and initiative, creative and willing to provide new ideas
  • Experienced in facilitating adult workshops and familiar with Adult Learning Principles
  • Familiarity and experience in people management
  • Must be meticulous and work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Well organised with strong planning and prioritising skills
  • Strong technological skills knowledge and familiarity with Looker Studio and data management and reporting tools and systems
  • Must be flexible as some evening and weekend work required
